I need something that will handle 3 acres. The area is mostly flat with obstacles. there are a few slopes but not very bad can be cut horizontally instead of vertical. My price range is used-$2500, new $3000.

Is this mower worth the cost and will work for what I need? I am in SC just south of Charlotte NC. Let me know if there are better options available.

50" SNAPPER ZERO TURN MOWER

Thanks

I don't think that I would buy either one. Both look like they were rode hard and left sitting it the yard for an extended period of time.

My neighbor bought a new z-t last year from lowes and yesterday I talked to him and looking at his mower it looked 5 or 6 years old. I doubt he has even changed to oil yet. paint is scratched the side panels are gouged and all exposed metal throttle cable and lever screws everything was rusty. These look about the same.

One would think that if you spend that much money on a lawn mower you would take care of it. At the very minimum a tarp over it, follow insructions on maintenance

The cub is a good mower I would offer him $1500

Mowers are used outside and are going to look used. Duh because they are used.

Screws are going to get rust on them even if you keep them in a shed.

I buy a lot of used mowers and always stay away from a used mower that has been cleaned to look like new. Means there is something they are trying to hide.

Look at the cub. Test drive it like you stole it.
Look under the deck see if a blade is bent or feels loose. Bent blades is a bad sign means they hit things and is not good on the bearings.

I take about a cup of hydro fluid out and run it threw a coffee filter to look for anything like dirt or metal flakes.

It is well worth $1500

Lets think about this for a min you cover your mower with a tarp the mower still gets wet from the mourning dew then the sun comes out and bakes on the tarp. You go out to use the mower why is the seat wet it has been under a tarp?
And how did it get sun faded?

It is best not to cover with a tarp.

I just don't get it people use their mower outside cutting wet nasty grass but then put it in a shed to keep the weather off it. Then put a snowblower on it and use it in the snow.
