I hope that you are able to find more of them. I would not call them scarce around here, but there seems to be fewer and fewer of the older ones around where I live. I find myself keeping an eye out for the ones that are in nicer condition that have been abandoned. I found out today that if I would not have come along and purchased this mower, the owner was going to scrap it. He had it listed on CL for a couple of months. I cannot figure out why it did not sell right away, considering the condition it was in. Scrapping it would've been a crime! I'm glad I checked it out (about 100 miles from my home) and snagged it. His price was a bit on the high end, but it was worth it to me, even though I had to drive a distance to see it.

Stay on the look-out. It's a fun little hobby.

If it's getting hard to find older LBs in Wisconsin (prime hunting grounds along with Ohio and the rest of the Midwest) it's getting almost impossible down here in the Deep South. I haven't seen a single D-series for sale in over a year and I check CraigsList almost every day. I'm glad I got into this a few years ago before things got so tight.
