The trend in burgers these day is to ad egg? Mac and cheese? Ham? Yuck! Another thing is full body tattoos, what is the purpose? Tiny beds on full size trucks? Lowrider jeans, come on! Idont get any of this, I could list a lot more{ like I see people mowing in the rain and the results dont look good}, maybe I'm getting too old to understand, I don't know!:confused2:

I think things are just getting more silly as the days go on.

What happened to simple things that worked!?

And I know simple things work, because I'm a living example!

I tend to like everything you just mentioned (the truck bed being the exception, unless it's a stepside) - maybe I'm just too young to understand why you don't understand.........

What I don't get about burger joins is why they do not offer whole wheat buns.:confused2: In Canada there are burger places called Harveys and they are the only places that offer whole wheat buns:thumbsup: that I know of. I guess if you want to eat healthy you probably should go to the burger joins in the first place.:laughing:

I pretty much agree.

All kids today a spoiled brats thinking they deserve cell phones and cars provided by their parents. They graduate with degrees in english lit and don't understand why they don't automatically get a job as and executive.

But, the small bed on truck thing goes back to the 4 doors on trucks thing............. other countries have had those for 20 years longer than us.

I love the functionality of my Ridgeline. I can haul 4 people, full sheets of sheetrock laying completely flat in the bed, and be comfortable enough and get good enough gas mileage for my white collar 8 mile commute every day while keeping my golf clubs in the trunk. BUT, when I need a truck load of mulch or dirt I borrow the father-in-law's beater long bed......... I just couldn't afford to keep gas in something like that every day. What kills me is how everyone claims it is not a real truck...... yet they drive a full size pickup every day and never haul anything. I guess I just don't need a "real" pickup.

My GMC has a full 8 foot cargo area with the second row seats folded and I have had 4 F 150 trucks with the 8 foot bed. Have never understood why anybody would buy a short box truck when they want to haul things. I load my truck up all the time.

About tattoos....MORONS, spending money to deface their body. To me they are just weird, period. About burgers...fast food places seem to feel the need to introduce "newness" to their menu all the time. If people want to spend their money on a McEggwichWhopperSub good for them, the companies that spend all their $$$ on tv commercials need the money.

Ahh, my requirement for hauling has always been a few sheets of sheet-rock and my motorcycles without a trailer.

A long-bed is just not necessary every day for that.

I don't know how many of you have seen the Ford Explorer SportTrac, but here are my reasons for getting it (short bed and all).
4 doors - back seat (mostly for our daughter - Jazz the Chocolate Lab)
Independant Suspension (our road is washboard most of the time)
V-8 -- for towing and PA mountains
4WD - 4Wauto (AWD), 4W High, & 4W Low - I do wish I could run in RWD only.
Pick up bed - so the trash (stinky garbage) isn't inside an SUV when it is HOT out.
I got a hitch extender so you can haul 8' lumber etc. with the gate down.
It fits in the garage with room to walk behind and in front.
This was the only 4WD truck I could find that met all those wants.

While this thread is about what can't be understood these days .......
How can anyone call RAP music ??????
Why does anyone want to walk around with stupid underwear showing and no belt ?
Why would someone with hair want to look like they just rolled out of bed or stuck their finger in a light socket ??? Some people do that on purpose ???
How things that have been WRONG for centuries are suddenly OK ????
Why some people NEED a cell phone in their ear constantly (even while driving) ??
:confused2: :confused2: :confused2:

My brother has an '01 Sport Trac, was new in this pic, looks like s--- now after 156,000 miles. He likes it but wishes he had more cargo room in the back. The pickup bed is TINY. Can you get a 4 foot wide sheet of plywood between the fenderwells? I think not.

All you old fogies are a blast to listen to
As a 24 year old, I will weigh in my opinion.
Hamburgers: A lot of specialty diners have had and done burgers as you are saying for decades.** Those are some of my favorite burgers, but I do always love a good traditional burger as well. I don't enjoy the fast food places as much as your old time diners anyways, the fast food places always screw up on the specialty burgers anyways, it's just sad
Tatoos: Agreed for the most part. Though it's each persons prerogative to do what they want, but full body is just ridiculous, smaller ones can be ok.
Tiny bed on full size trucks: Different purposes and needs for different people. Some people haul around a trailer all day and would rather have a shorter bed with more passenger room as they don't ever use the bed to haul much besides maybe some fuel cans, etc.
Low rider jeans: Yea those guy's are just idiots, no argument there
RAP: No argument here, terrible
People with headsets or cellphones always up to their ear: Very annoying. I go on business trips all the time and some of these people deserve to be slapped.

Last point: I am getting hungry for a burger :licking:
**Our local diner has this burger that they have made for decades that is very delicious! Nice thick hamburger patty, thick slab of ham, sloppy joe meat, tomato, lettuce, cheese, special relish, and some special sauce that they use. It is a thing of beauty and is the tastiest thing that I have ever eaten :licking::licking:

Regarding small beds on trucks:
I seems to me when you purchase something that is supposed to be able to do many things, it winds up that it really does do many things but it does none of them very well. It's true with cars, boats, tools and just about anything. This is the biggest reason for having more than one vehicle.

Hey guys this thread is pretty interesting! Slater speechless is right, I dont think my cast iron stomach can handle that one! Military tattoos I can understand you should be proud as we all are for your service. But just the other day I was behind this young girl probably in her early twenties (I cant judge a womans age anymore) she normally would have been very attractive (if I noticed those kinds of things anymore!) if she wasnt covered head to toe in tattoos. One or two not so bad but...... and I have a newphew thats got a jacked up 4x4, wears a cowboy hat and boots who listens to Hank Williams Sr. one minute and 50 cent the next, I just dont get it.

Mine is an 08 and I have carried 4- 3/4'x4'x8' plywood and a couple dozen 2x6 & 2x4s using the bed extender in the receiver. There are pockets molded into the bed to hold 2x4 and a couple 2x6 so the plywood will ride flat above the wheel wells. If that was a main concern and I did it all the time I would want a full size bed.

You don't need a fuill sized bed to lay 4 x 8 sheets between the fenderwells. The Ridgeline can do that and with the tailgate down only 8" or so hangs off.

The thing that you cannot do it heave large logs into the back because the trunk lid would break. After cutting up three pine trees 18" across I had to gently place the logs in the back to haul them off. I should have used the trailer, but I was feeling too lazy to make it easy on myself.
