Yardman Transaxle Repair Caused Me Dental Issues
Anybody understand dental insurance/billing??
I recently had a root canal done.
At the time of diagnosis and setting up the appointment for the procedure,
a lady at the dentist's office communicated with the insurance company
and presented me with a paper that indicated the cost of the procedure, the amount the insurance
would pay and the amount which I would owe.
The day that the procedure was performed, I was presented with a higher bill at checkout.
I objected, and was asked to pay the originally quoted amount, which I did.
So, now, 6 weeks later, I get a bill from them for an even HIGHER amount due.
Of course, this all happens while the dentist office is on a 3 week Holiday break.
I looked at the explanation of benefits from the insurance company, and nothing makes sense to me at all.
Amounts are all different from what I recall the dentist's billing showing.
I plan on visiting them on Wednesday and requesting ALL documentation for this situation:
the pre procedure document which was presented to me when scheduled. the bill presented
the day of, and the bill submitted to the insurance company,
then attempting to reconcile with the insurance company's paperwork and schedule of benefits.
Typically, the dentist will bill the insurance for an amount much higher than the "approved" amount for the procedure (usually way less.)
ans the ins. will pay their scheduled percentage of the "approved" amount.
We'll see what happens.
Just seems like a big rip-off to me...........
