Compressor operating pressure

OK.
Looks like the big honkin' 5hp 2 stage compressor is working.

The prior owner has the cut off switch set at about 110psi or so.
This unit should be good to 175#.
Should I adjust the switch to a higher pressure than where it is currently set?
I realize that higher tank pressure will give longer air draw at the useful 60# range I'm using,
but am not sure if the rest of the system will like higher pressure.
Will a higher pressure put more strain on the pump/motor??

OK.

Same thing....... different nozzles, whichever you prefer, maybe SCUM-BAG woulda been a better choice !! .. :laughing:..:laughing:

There is a section on adjusting the pressure regulator, READ TFM ..

Ya....they say NOT to change the factory settings.............
Then they talk about adjusting settings of a replacement switch to match those of the original.......
These do not really address my situation, as someone else had already adjusted the switch.........
Near as I can find out, the original factory setting was cut off @175psi........

175 psi... HMmmmmm I sure hope ya got a functional press. relief valve,

Ya know for your blasting purposes, 100 - 125 psi should be more than adequate,I would worry more about cfm per min.
