Pet peeve word of the day

Today's word is CIRCA.
Not cirsa........CIRKA .............
C followed bu E or I is soft....like "S" As in Circle or Celsius
C followed bw A,O ur U is hard, like K..........As in Calamity, ,County or Culture.

"cirsa" just scrapes the old fingernails across the blackboard.............
