I still do not grammatically understand the football term "breaks contained."
I know what it is indicating: that a player has escaped the defensive enclosure designed to prevent a gain.

This phrase seems to have been originated by Jesse Palmer, former Florida Gator QB and current sports analyst.
He is Canadian; maybe it is a well used phrase from the "Uppa U.S??"

Hearing those 2 words together is akin to scraping ones fingernails across a chalkboard...........

Once again we may be thinking USA not the rest of the world. Soccer is called Football in most countries besides ours.

I have not watched a single pro game this season which is too bad, because I got the nfl Sunday Ticket for
free as part of the renegotiation with my satellite TV provider.............
I guess it's true what they say.........free didn't cost nuttin and is worth 'bout as much....

Palmer is an analyst with ESPN College Football...........

OK, OK, OK, I got it ! NO I don't like humble-pie or eatin crow, YOUR guy did a superbly FANTASTIC race !! He truly deserved it and all the Truex fans ( and you ) have my CONGRATULATIONS !! AND, .. I'm glad he attributed their winning attitude, devotion and patience to a Higher Power. I sincerely hope his girlfriend Sherry Pollack, wins over her battle with cancer, God bless them both.
