Was changing the oil on my TB-30R (2020- model 13A726JD023) and somehow messed up the internal threads when I was reinstalling the oil drain plug. Not sure how to fix this so any advice would be appreciated. ChatGPT suggests a thread chaser and if that doesn't work use a tap. But I have no idea which ones to use because I cant find any tech specs anywhere in the TB-30R documents. like what size thread chaser? what size tap?
As easy as this thing was to get damaged, I know I am not the only one to mess up the threads on the TB-30. I contacted a lawn mower mechanic in my area and he said he didn't have a tap that size but didn't specify size.. So need help resolving this problem. Attaching photos to help determine solution. Never had to fix damaged threads before so don't know what I am doing yet. Thanks in advance for help figuring this out.
UPDATE: Found a guy that had a tap and knew how to fix it so we got it fixed. I installed one of those oil change hoses so I wouldn't have to risk messing up the threads again in the future and oil changes on mower are a lot less messy.
