Tail Lights

I've got an X300. Great mower, but it does not have tail lights. I would like tailights for when I am pushing snow in conditions where it is difficult to see. I was thinking of red that is sationary and amber that blinks. Any suggestions?

I personally would use those high power battery operated lights you can buy for bicycles.

No wiring required! :thumbsup:

Sure can't be any big thing wiring them. One wire from the headlight and the ground from the rear fender. As far as a flashing light goes just get a HD automobile directional light flasher and hook it into the hot wire. I think it sounds like a good idea because I know for myself when I am working around the road it would be nice to be seen.

Thanks. That does not sound to difficult at all. It would be much safer in certain weather conditions or in the evening.

A trip to NAPA or any auto parts store and maybe about 50 dollars or so is a lot cheaper then one trip to emergency if you got hit by a car and a lot easier on the body.:thumbsup:

Too true!
One other thought I had is to put a light up a bit, like on a 3 foot tall piece of tubing or pipe, so that it might catch the eye of any other driver in your vicinity.

If you're concerned about visibilty I'd go witht he post mount too & suggest investing in a rotating amber beacon or LED amber flashing strobe (preferably hard wired, or even in the accessory 12v plug if you have one) - I have these hard wired on all my mowers & farm tractors/equipment so they come on at start up, makes for cheap insurance at $50 or less.

I bought a set of magnetic tail lights meant for use when towing a car for like $15 at northern tools. I have found all kinds of ways to used them. Even made a couple of adapters that convert the 4 way to a cig lighter, or 2 battery clips to just clip onto the battery. Very useful and cheap.
