My mother in law passed away yesterday morning and we have a lot of family coming in and her yard is a mess.
We have had copious amounts of rain here in the last few weeks and it is wetter than I have seen it in years.
I walked over parts of the yard today after lunch and decided that the ground should be firm enough to possibly cut it.

I started cutting and made a part of a round and got to the very furthest back corner and started to turn and the bottom fell out from under my Kubota Zero turn. There I was 100 yards from the road with my lawn mower stuck and no way to get it out.

I went to my trailer and took the tailgate ramp off and carried it out to the mower and laid it down behind the mower and obviously could not back up on it because the mower was stuck deep enough that the skid plate was almost on the ground. I had a big nylon ratchet strap in the truck and I hooked it across the ramp and to the mower and tightened it as tight as I could. Then I would get on the mower and try to back up which would get me a little slack in the strap which I would get off of the mower and ratchet back on it and get on and try again until I finally got it to back up onto the tailgate ramp. Then I got the strap out of the way and got a running start and got the mower out and then went out far enough to turn around and backed in far enough to hook the long strap to the tailgate and drug it out to the road and put it back on the trailer. Then I decided that it would just have to wait and I loaded up and came to the house...

Anybody got a similar story of getting in trouble and finding a way out?

I've benn stuck so many times it's not funny. Worst time was I had a toro grounds master slide in a narrow valley between two inclines. Had to have loader pick it up by the ROPS and carry it back to the shop because it popped the bead on the tire. We are no strangers to 100' of chain. Lol

We have stuck the Kubota several times before but never in a situation like this one was. It was do far out that we could not get close enough to it to pull it with anything and it was bad. Several other times I have stuck it I was able to back the truck close enough to it to just hook to it with chain and pull it out. Normally cutting a ditch.

Man I have been there, and it is a PITA. I was lucky enough to find enough rope to string out to the mower, and pull it out with the truck. I dont know what it is about zt mowers but they wont get traction in mud at all. My neighbor even put ags on his, and still got stuck on in mud. Glad to hear you got it out though.

I carry two 50' tow lines just for that reason! I buried my Ferris Is2000 so bad it took the truck to pull it out.
