I took some measurements this morning. I have the belt 3" below the bottom of the deck. I usually cut my grass at the 4" setting which puts the bottom of the belt 3/4" above dry ground. The next time it rains I intend to change the belt and lower it about a 1/2" or go to what bullet Bob set his at.

I too usually cut at 4". Having that belt low sure gives a nice stripe. Only thing is, when you go in reverse, you'll 'feel' it bend the other way......... Doesn't seem to weaken it....

Cool, thanks. I was just watching this video, and since I have a 42" deck, I may go with the horse stall mat. It looks thicker than the baler belt, but also flat, so I can run a backing plate across it. Also leaves me enough for a mat by the work bench.

Ended up with the baler belt. Playing with heights now...what I really need is rain though, lol.
