No, just get it out of the way in the garage so the wife doesn't run over it with the car.

It doesn't matter. Two thoughts. First, get them off the ground to keep mud daubers out of the muffler, I have lots of those jobs come in in the spring! Second, don't hang it engine down because of leakage through the tank vent or a dodgy cap. Especially don't do that with a 4 stroke so the oil doesn't run out the crank case vent.

Always vertical on a hook, no problems in 10 years.

It does not matter.

My trimmer I use every day stay on the trimmer rack on the trailer. Most time they turn with the gas tank up.

The once I do not use every day hang on a wall from the engine.

I am considering rearranging the equipment in my cargo trailer, particularly the trimmers. My trailer has extra height and with a tore up right shoulder again, I need to move the trimmers so I can get them down more easily. Both trimmers are the two piece type and I could hang them vertically with the attachment removed. I sold my big Husqvarna 390 XP saw as I can no longer handle it and bought a new Husqvarna T 540 XP arborist saw. I also plan to rearrange the saws and other hanging equipment for easier access.
I see no problem hanging trimmers in any position except for some of the four stroke units that have a wet sump. They do need to be fairly secure to prevent damage during transport. I will need to fabricate some brackets to hang the trimmers from.

yup, it really dosen't matter with a simple 2 stroke. I used to have a big garage and I laid the weed whacker on the floor next to the wall in the area where I parked the mower. Now I have a small shed and I hang the weed whacker on the wall next to the shovel and rake. Never had a problem with either storage method.

I store mine horizontal on the trailer, and vertical with the engine up when storing it in the garage. Just the way I always have done it.
