Someone kindly sent me to the spark plug replacement site to check out a replacement for a TorchF6RTC plug.

The suggested replacement seemed to be Champ. RN11YC.

I ordered that from Kohler (thru Home Depot) and they sent me Champ. RC12YC.

Will that work?

Thanks,

JD

Yes it should work not a problem.

The RN11YC crosses onto an NGK BPR5ES which is the about the same plug as the champion RC12YC.

Here's a site to cross Spark plug cross reference

The Touch F6RTC crosses to the NGK-BPR6ES according to the site

According to the site the NGK BPR5ES crosses to a champ RN12YC4

[h=3]Possible spark plugs for torch F6RTC:[/h]

According to this site there is no cross to a champion.

Oh, Boy...two replies...two opinions.

Maybe I should ask if the RC12 would do any damage to the mower?

The rc12 will not foul out if you run a little rich

As far as damage to the mower I couldn't really say but seeing how the F6RTC doesn't cross to a champion according to the site I personally wouldn't be using it in my engine. I mean why would you take a chance when you can go to some place like Auto Zone and get the NGK- BPR6ES which is the direct replacement and have the correct plug, personally IMO a better plug than a Champion.

If the spark plug came in the engine from the factory wouldn't you think the F6RTC would be the right plug?

Iv never heard of this plug or seen it used in any engine manufacturer.

I only go by what manufacturer recommends.
Iv never understood this thing of NGK are better than Champions but Champions better than Denso
etc etc.

Briggs use champion, Honda Denso or NGK, Kohler use Champions, Kawasaki use NGK and Tecumseh use Champion and NGK.

Imo a plugs a plug just different heat range and lengths etc.

If its a Kohler engine as the op bought from Kohler the RC12YC will be the correct plug.
