None of my mowers have ever been rained on much less washed. I blow them off, wipe them off. Scrape them off. But no wash .

I wash mine weekly, no dirt or grass on the when I'm done. Then I change oil and grease wheels and sharpen blade and blow out air filter this way water is nowhere it shouldn't be.

I wax mine at the end of the year helps make it easier to clean. If the under side of my deck is worn I use paint remover then 2 coats of high gloss white spray paint and then a clear cote and a layer of wax.

I like clean machines shows my customers I care about my equipment and is good for finding problems and generally more fun to use a clean new looking machine vs a dirty grimy machine.

Most of you will recall I had to save the Cheetah wet and dirt on Wednesday after a immediate rain storm caught me in the back yard trying to cut and beat the rain... it also effected my timing for an oil change ..... total failure...... LOL...

OK, I finally had the opportunity to cut dry grass today. (I do not cut wet....period) Yes, the grass was long and thick....but, that's why I purchased a 61" 31hp mower.... So I would not have cutting issues.

After the cutting, I blew the Cheetah clean, then with a rag dipped in water and wrung out, I wiped'ur down. Then blew what moisture may have been on the ZTR.

OH.... The clock indicated 11.2 hours, so I had her first oil change. WOW.... that was so quick & simple. (I kept checking everything, thinking I may have forgotten something)

She is clean and tucked away in the building, ready for the next cut.

OH..... Today I cut the front yard at a slower pace (took me one and three quarter hours instead of one and one half hours for a total cut) looking to possible cut the front yard a little better. But I have discovered, cutting fast or cutting slow is all the same for that Cheetah. The front yard was just as pretty cutting fast as it is cutting slow.

It never ceases to amaze me that my cutting time of 18 years went from right at four hours and fifteen minutes to one hour and a half on that Cheetah.

I know we're all very proud of ourt new man-toys. Atleast I know I am. Just curious...knowing these things cut grass and all, how clean do you keep yours? After finishing the lawn today I took the blower to my mower and after it cooled off I squirted it off with the hose. Thats about it for me. I didnt break out the soap bucket or anything. Just wondering what the rest of you guys do.:)

I use the hose every other time I mow.
Wipe it dry.
No wax yet but I have waxed my other mowers.
Wanna get some touch up paint to fix a few spots.
I'd love to put clear coat on it.
Wife thinks I'm nuts going to a mower forum but she hangs out on a cat forum.
