In response to a family joke, I want to put side mirrors on my mower. Big harley ones. What is the best way to attach them? Should I try to weld them into the side, or drill a hole with a bolt and have them come up on handlebars?

Welding chrome could be a problem so the bolt method would seem to be easier.

I bolt them to the side of the cab on my lawn mower... Just in front of the doors... Works great until you get into tree limbs... KennyV

Hi I think i would bolt them on so you can remove them if you ever want to, that would be easy to remove then welded ones.

What if you setup a way that you could have them on mini pivots so when you get near the brush you can easily pull them back? I know I have seen this somewhere before if I can find the link again I will come back and let you know how it was done, caught it on a fan site I think.

try mounting them on a pivot arm with return springs. that way when the trees or brush push them in the spring will pull them back in place. you do not need a really strong spring if the pivots are not to tight.
