So bad gas was the cause? Wow so ridiculous why manufacturers would think we even needed a oil pressure switch like this on a mower.

More than likely, the Ethanol fuel collected humidity which turned to water droplets in time. Seafoam is good for braking up the moisture droplets. A half bottle of rubbing alcohol would have worked also. Strange trick, but I have had it work many times. Isopropyl and Ethanol are not the same. Isopropyl will actually break up the water and allow it to get drawn in with the fuel.

Doesn't Isopropyl contain 30% water?

Here is an example I found on line stating the difference between the two:

Ethanol and isopropyl alcohol are both types of alcohol commonly used for disinfecting and cleaning purposes. Ethanol, also known as ethyl alcohol, is a renewable and biodegradable alcohol derived from plants such as corn or sugarcane. It is commonly found in alcoholic beverages and is often used as a solvent in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Isopropyl alcohol, on the other hand, is a synthetic alcohol derived from petroleum. It is commonly used as a disinfectant and antiseptic in healthcare settings and is also found in household cleaning products. While both alcohols are effective at killing germs and bacteria, ethanol is generally considered safer for use on skin and surfaces due to its natural origin.

All fuel lines are flexible - no internal hardening or degradation.
How do you know? Something is causing your lack of fuel issue. Pull the hose off AT the carb inlet. Drain into a glass jar. Should have a gundy pulsing fuel flow if the pump is good. As in making a huge mess.

Look for water in the bottom of the jar.
