I have a mower that cuts the engine off when I release the brake/clutch or try to engage the blades.
Can't seem to locate the owners manual. Hoping someone has some ideas. Thanks.

WELCOME TO LMF!
It would help if we had engine and mower model numbers, so we can help you solve the problem or find a manual.
Good luck!

Sounds like a bad seat safety switch. I would check that first.

For diagnosis you can jumper the recepticle of the switch out with a wire.

sears has a secondary contact switch built into the wiring harness, which acts as a jumper when it is unplugged from the switch to activate the kill system to prevent people from just unplugging the switch.

the same thing just happened to my yard machines. its a kill wire. it grounds out when there is movement. disconnect that wire and you should be fine. if you want to shut it off then connect those wires back.
