scalp or short cut for first cut in Omaha NE

I have a lawn that is 2 years old. Very thick (KBG,Rye,&Fescue). I am thinking to cut it at 2 inches before it starts to green. The frost went out today (3/8/2016). I normally cut it at 3 inches and right now the height is 3.5 to 4. I also plan to bag. My question is should I take more off or stay at 2 inch height.

Grass is still dormant, looking to just take off the brown so it will green up quicker.

Cut shorter for the first cut. Then mow at regular height.

On all my yards I cut at 1 inch before they green back up.
