Scag Grass Collector Modification

[Cut up]

I’m adapting a Scag 48” Tiger Cat II to an older grass collector that supposedly came off a 48” Tiger Cub (year unknown).
The bottom lip of the blower intake is 1” inch lower than the bottom of the deck.
I’m concerned that it could get damaged if I use it like this. I can fabricate a bracket to raise it if necessary. Should it be at the same height as the bottom of the deck?
My deck is 4” in height, are all Scag decks the same height?

I would think it should be equall or not be much lower than the deck height for clearance above whatever your deck height is set.

I am adapting it so the bottom lip of the blower intake is at the same height as the bottom of the deck.
I read another post referencing the installation of a grass collector and the bottom of the blower on his mower was installed according to the manufacturers instructions and it was 1” lower that the bottom of his deck.
He said it was a problem when he drove his mower on his trailer and when crossing sidewalks etc.
