Ok, guys need some help here....this thing has me stumped....this is the problem: crank it up, runs fine, pull in forward move handles it goes dead. so I bypassed both of them for a bit to see if that helped and it did the engine would stay running and it would move around......try to turn on pto and it would kill the engine.....as long as pto was off it would run with guide handles bypassed......one thing I did notice was the engine will crank with or without sitting on it......how do I bypass or check pto switch to see if its bad.

The switch that is bad is the seat switch.
Unplug it and see if that works. If not then run a jumper wire in the switch plug.

I already done that...it still shut down engine when the pto is engaged

If it shut down when trying to go forward and when you engaged the pto then it will be the seat switch.

sitting in the seat engine running and when pto switch is engaged will shut off engine without trying to go forward

read carefully your instruction manual.
For the engine to cut out when the PTO is turned on, the mower must "think" there is no one in the operators seat.
So somewhere between the seat switch, the pto switch and the ingition module an earth event occurs.

The other thing that kills the engine is the mower "thinking" you are trying to move with the brake on.
In this case you need to look in the loop ignition module, brake switch motion control switch.
