Ride on wont start after mowing over a tarp

My daughter mowed up a Tarp while mowing the lawn today . the mower immediately shut off because it became jammed. I removed the tarp from the blade it was a little jammed now the mower wont start . Is there something I should be looking for?
 
Did you disengage the blades before attempting to start. It is not unusual for people to forget to shut off the blades after killing the mower after getting something wrapped in the blades.
