RE: Belt

I have a troy bilt bronco riding mower. We have bought a new belt and it keeps coming off as well as the old ones did. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

Re: Belt

did you check your pulleys for worn bearings or missed aligned guards?

Re: Belt

Many years ago I had a craftsman and it came from the factory with the pulley out of alignment. They installed a spacer under the pulley and that helped somewhat.

Are you using OEM belts?

Re: Belt

Check the tranny,
It is held up by 2 bolts on each side of the axel plus 2 more at the front or side to stop it tilting.
No one ever checks them for tightness so they break or fall out allowing the tranny to tilt when you put a load on it and toss the belt.
