My grandad had a few of these when I was younger, and I always thought they must have been local due to the name, turns out their original factory/foundry was less than 15 miles from where I live!

If the op is in the UK, they do come up for sale at various auctions in varying states or repair, some even run, but not very often you see them about due to the age of them.

Maybe try speaking to a local mower shop, but an old skool one with proper mechanics not fitters, and take the mower for them to see.

Qualcast bought Suffolk mowers out
AFAIK the Punch was the original Suffolk mower with a suffolk engine
Being a UK company they were sold mainly in the UK & Europe ( predates the EU )
They also had a factory in Australia
AFAIK the Australian Qualcasts used Launcen engines who would latter on be bought out by Tecumseh

However the Suffolk name got recycled several times
We really need some photos or perhaps you might like to try vintagemowers.com
Hope these upload this time

Nice mower
Not an engine I recognise, although it does look very much like a BSA 98cc A engine which after 1962 became a Villiers as BSA sold their stationary engine division to Villiers
What is on that tag on the cover behind the carb ?
If it is a Villiers or BSA engine it should have that cast into the crankcase under the blower cover
Definatly not a Suffolk engine as they had cast iron barrels & heads
Side valves are not very fussy about the spark plug
So the next thing is to measure the thread depth
A Champion CJ 8 will probably be the go but not a resistor plug , a plain old CJ8
