hey guys, i found the issue for the strong recoil, the blade was loose. But after i tightened it down again with all my might, it got loose, but not too bad. I repeated this twice and i even put a washer on it, still problem permits. What do i do now?? I am certain its the original bolt and blade. None of it is stripped. I put some rope down the spark plug hole and tightened down the bolts.

That's a heck of a question lol, was there maybe a lock washer that you misplaced? Is it a clockwise or counterclockwise turning motor?

Loc-Tite works excellent for nuts that you don't want to come lose, as well as lock washers

Just replace the hardware.... The bolt and any other hardware under there... Safety first

yeah, sounds like he needs to replace the blade adapter and all the bolts.

Loc-Tite works very well, but don't use the red because it works too well, so use the blue.

If you have to use Loc-tite on your blade blots you have something way wrong and it needs to be fixed.

I would just replace all the hardware under there as someone else said, and if you still can't get it, throw some threadlocker #3 From HF on it. Hope this helps

Ya locktite and thread lock will work.... But you should not have to use it. So there is something wrong and personally I would never do anything to a Sharp blade spinning at 3000+ rpm besides what the original engineers did they have safety standards far surpassing our own so replace the hardward your probably looking at $20-$30 dollars max how much is your foot worth?

I threadlocked a 17HP riding mower blade about three years ago, no problems as of yet. If my 17HP didn't throw the blade I doubt this 3.5 will.

No I said it would work. I am saying that you shouldn't need it.

Oh ok, sorry about that I misunderstood.

Loctite or new hardware. I will say price wise they would be about the same. Loctite isn't cheap. OK why would the bolt keep coming loose? What will new hardware solve? Bad threads, bad lock washer, improper torque? What are the threads like in the crank shaft? I would say there has to be a reason so find the problem??? If the threads are bad and you use a new bolt/nut, also use the blue Loctite to take up the worn threads on the crankshaft. For some reason everybody thinks just install new parts and problem solved, but that isn't always true. Like said earlier you have a blade spinning 3000 RPM's so fix it right.

check to see if theres any dirt in the bttom of the hole causing the bolt to bottom out not allowing it to be tightened properly. pipe thread tape also works good to hold a nut/bolt in place.

Replace the bolt it has. Stretched.

One more thing to check. One grade 8 bolt, cheap repair.

I would check for a partially sheared flywheel key. If the engine has back fired lately or had the starter roe yanked out of you hand, the timing might be off causing the problem.
