Power washer pump leak

On the IPL I posted items 37-41 can the problem if your normal hose will not discharge. And for the check valves I always replace all as a set as it only take defective to cause lost of pressure..

So I took out the unloaded and it only travels 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. Should it travel more? It also appears the piston is bent. We I turn the piston it moves non concentrically

the gel in an early photo is usually the aluminum reacting with the salts in the water. It likely means there is corrosion in the parts. In my humble opinion it is simply less time and trouble to replace the whole pump than chase part after part that is sticking or has failed. These pumps do corrode and get electrolysis in them.
