Power washer pump leak

Hello, I have a pressure washer that is leaking like the attached pictures. I am thinking maybe the o rings have failed as it struggles to maintain and build sufficient pressure. Two questions:

1) does this sound like a correct diagnosis?

2) when replacing the o rings will oil come out there if I don’t drain it first?

There shouldn't any oil drain when you remove the manifold from the main part of the pump. I think you have bigger issues than just a water seal or O ring issue.

More like the pump as been ran dry and the packing (water) seals are destroyed.

Pay close attention to notes (Legend) on the kits and parts.

The water seals (packing) is kit PN 42122. Also make sure the pistons (item 49) are not damaged.

Awesome. Thank you. I am a little new at this. So do I need to drain engine oil when I take the pump apart or is the oil for the pump separate?

also, if the piston is damaged where do I find the part number for it? I tried googling 2234 from the picture, but nothing comes up. Am I reading the diagram incorrectly?

the plastic piece looks to be damaged, but I am not sure what it is. Does anyone know what to call it?

so the end of the pistons look fine. Should I take apart the pump to inspect the parts of the pistons I can’t see?

Hello everyone I have a generac power washer RMV 3440. I started with two problems. Constant leaking of water and low to no pressure. The constant leaking water has been stopped by replacing the bushings in the pump part #27 from diagrams and one clearly damaged 42123 valve. So the water has stopped leaking but there is still no pressure. Should I replace all 42123 valves?



The ends of the pistons look ok but do I need to inspect the entire piston?



Could it be the unloader valve? If so, what would that be on the diagram?

The unloader would be parts 11-23. If no funny noises, Low pressure=I would guess is the unloader stuck open.
With the unloader, usual- righty tighty, higher pressure. back off that unloader so it is very low pressure and try to move the "plunger" part of it by hand. It should move freely to open and close to build\relieve pressure.
When u get that moving, fire it up and tighten the unloader to build pressure to see if u get your high pressure back.
