Hello...just came across this site. I have about a quarter acre of property and just need a self propelled mower to handle the grass. I came across a good deal on a brand new Poulan Pro PR625Y22RHP 22" cut Self Propelled Mower at my local hardware store. I am replacing a 3 year old Toro that I've had continual problems with. I don't know anything about the "Poulan" brand and it has a auto choke feature which requires no priming to start etc. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing in the long run ha...I do know at these price points they don't last very long but I still would like to get atleast a few years of good service out of it.

If anyone can recommend or give advice on this mower or Poulan in general good or bad, I really would appreciate it!

Thanks!

Hey thanks for the response! The Toro is officially played out so I need to get something quick before my front yard turns into a jungle and the HOA fines me. Dont you just love HOA's?

Is that Honda a push or a rider?

I agree...a Honda HRR would be a good choice. The Honda is a self-propelled "push" mower. Hondas are GREAT mowers! See the picture and link below.

That DOES look like a nice mower..doubt I could buy one for what this Poulan is selling for locally tho - - >$200 Hardware store is going out of business and has everything marked down.

I tried a poulan pro today at a ace store and the only thing I didn't like was the greas for the front wheel drive where hard on the wheel but if u buy the mower buy a can of rub on multi grease normally purple and rub it in the inside of the wheels greas and on the gear drive itself and on the back wheels holes and u should be good to go my craftsman I have did the same thing till I did what I listed above

Good and post some pics if you do :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I did buy the mower. It was a good deal so if it lasts the season I'd say I got my moneys worth out of it. It seems to be built really well and has the 675 series Briggs and Stratton Engine with a auto choke starting system. I'm anxious to see how well the self propelled drive is going to be. We had rain here yesterday and today so will maybe try it out tomorrow. Grass is really high so should be a good test!

Let us know how it performs and maybe post a picture of it in action.
