Hi All need help ASAP. We tried everything to get my 150BT back to work
Very hard to start. Once I get it to start it does not seems as strong as it use too. When I am blowing leaves for about 5 to 10 mins the blower will just die.
We changed:
carb
fluid lines ( my father bought the kit that had all new parts)
spark plug
cleaned spark screen
We have Husqvarna fuel only in the leaf blower now.
new air filter
I just tried to start with the screen on just to see if it will start. Nothing !!! pull cord and it will not kick over.
I do not have the receipt and it is 15 months old. Company just blew us off.
Any suggestions before I throw this out.
Thank You,
Keith
Think I had this posted as a reply in another section sorry admins

Take the muffler off and look at the piston to see if it's scored or damaged..... You can do the same on the carb side also.... Running a unit with no air filter will destroy a piston....

Ok but I never ran the leaf blower without the air filter. I meant I replaced the air filter. One day its working fine the next it would stall and never start again. Support told us to do what I mention and still not working
break the bolt loose with vise grips and them thread them out with the torx bit.

Is that a T 27 torx in there are T 25 . take a strong magnet and pull the broke piece out and then spray the bolts with some PB Blaster......... Let soak...........
Still nothing. Sound the same its kicks but nothing. How do I check the piston. Sorry not a tech guy doing the best I can.

get a drinking straw and put some gas in it from a gas can and put your finger over the end that is in your hand to hold the gas in. then put the gas in the
intake hole inside the carburetor where the air filter is then choke it and try to start it. if it runs it is a fuel issue.
Look in the hole at the piston with a flash light ..... All carbs are not adjusted just right for every engine You might need to do those adjustments yourself..... More details later .....

Here is an adjustment video made a friend of mine.... This is for a chainsaw which is similar to yours.... It's 1 of 2 videos that I am sending you... Watch both carefully before you adjust your unit........
Ok here is the 2nd video .... I would do it this way on this video.... I gave you both videos so you can get the feel for adjusting and then fine tuning......
Did you buy a OEM carb or a Ebay knock off carb saying it was for a Husqvarna ????

Ok. Did the straw this and it started. Did not let it run very long because gas spilled on my and garage floor. I mean the can. Should I do anything more than wipe up gas on floor? Dont want a fire.
Anyway it started.
FYI. My father just told me he replace all lines and bought 2 cans of Husqvarna gas. That is what is in there now.
Whay would be my next step. Thank you for all your helps guys.

Ok did everything you said. It started and started for about a minute. I gave it throttle and was ok. right around I would say running for 40 secs it sounded like it wanted to stall but did not. 20 secs later it stalled. I tried to start it again and same thing as the beginning it starts to kick but will not start

is there anything in the exhaust port of the engine ? can you see all the way in with a flash light.
I primed it no more than 5 times probably 3 but first couple I did not see gas come up. It did start on choke last test but once it stalled it would not start up again. This was the beginning problem even before we bought all these parts.
carb kit
air filter
spark plug
new fuel lines etc.....
and to make sure I answer your question
It did run on choke but once it ran for about a min I could not start again

I hope the fuel lines are hooked up the right way...... If not then you will keep having the same issue.........

i am stumped on this one it will start with fuel in the intake? with the straw? but will only start and stall with only the choke? did you put new gaskets in when you changed the carburetor?

Sorry just saw these post. I will check tomorrow. Sorry I am not a tech person. I do not even know what a piston looks like. I will look at the videos though. I want to thank you for them and your help. I will work again on this tomorrow.

That depends on if you have a cube carb or a rotary carb..... Pics of the carb would be nice..... I don't know what time I'll be on here Monday I have a full plate.....
There are other Techs on here that can tell you what you have...... Bert didn't chime in and I think it's because we flooded the thread toooo much already .......
I can't name all of them on here but they are very qualified to suit your needs...... It is something very easy though........

Yep that's a rotary carb.......... So those vids I posted wont help you ...........But the fuel lines might be backwards.......... That would be the first thing to do tomorrow..... Only 10 seconds of your time to try that..... Some rotary carbs have adjustments that you can see and some are hidden ................

Fuel lines hooked up correctly here is links for the carb kit. But to be honest this same symptom was happened even before we change out the carb and lines. Thanks Keith
Yes no way lines are wrong. I am trying to include video. I hope it works. Driveway is too dark to see but you can hear what is going on. I have it on choke turn to run.... If I let go of the throttle you will hear it wanted to die. as soon I as I press throttle all the way again he blows leaves. At the end of the video I took my finger off throttle and it just dies. Thanks Keith
didnt work. Can you see it through this link on my facebook?

yes I had it pressed all the way. sometime I would let up a little in the video but you could hear it wanted to stall. Towards the end of the video I had finger press a little on the trigger. But once I let it go it died.

Sounds like you need a carb adjustment.........To me ~!~!

See if your carb has this type of adjustment screw or screws....... Not the idle screw though.... The idle screw will be right there where the cable hooks to in most cases....
Ok will watch videos and adjust. I will do this Wen. I am not around tomorrow. Question though. Could it be a carb adjustment issue that would cause the unit to work but stall and than not start up again? The not starting after a stall is what puzzles me

Yes it can if the carb is not adjusted right...... Tooooo rich maybe can cause it to flood..... How much did your dad pay for that carb and fuel line kit ?????

NOT trying to be rude, or demeaning, but with your limited knowledge, and your desire to get the machine running properly, ASAP, ( because it is running) have you considered taking it to a local mower-shop to have them adjust the carb. ..??

Thats ok. Local shop wanted $80 just to look at it. I will throw it away before I get ripped off. I went to several they all what that type of cash. I paid $200 for it. That is 40% original cost. Ill just throw it out and never buy the brand again.
Ok. Did you dump the fuel that was in it before adding new fuel? Or just add new fuel on top of what was already there? Doesn't sound like you changed the fuel filter...sorry can't recall every detail from pages back. Did the gas it was stored with have ethanol in it? It's possible that it collected water and left an emulsion in the bottom of the tank and fouled the fuel filter.
Edit: So the real question is did you store it for months with fuel left in it? That's often the underlying cause of issues like the ones you're having, and if so it's not Husqvarna's fault.

so what is it doing now i have not read all the comments? did it run better yet?
