I have a 1980 MTD. Sold under the ace hardware name.

It sat in a barn for years.

It was silver when I got it. Changed the oil put gas in it and cut a half acre.

Pressure washed it and all the paint came off. Painted it black and red.

Most people that day MTD is junk and does not last have never had one.

There are more 20 plus year old MTDs still mowing then any other mower.

As far as riding mowers under $4000 I think they Make the best mower for the money. Cub cadet

Much Appreciated,

Starting to get a little Bummed Out, by the Basher's,, but your posting helped me for sure.

If you get a chance,, please post a pic,, it might help me decide,, where to stop and start the Navy Blue & Black.

Thanks Again.

Thanks for the pic's Carscw,

You did a nice paint job too. Hope mine turn's out ok. Seeing your pic's helps me more on where to do the Blue and Black.

I may do the wheel's too,, but it depend's on how much time I've got when I start painting.

Got the Deck pretty much Sanded last night. Will go over it again,, with a Wire Brush in the Crevice's,, and wipe it down with mineral spirit's.

The paint on the Sheet metal,, is actually in pretty good shape,, so I'll tape it up, give it a quick going over to rough up the paint ,, and then clean it with mineral spirit's.

Thanks Again,
