Have an issue with no spark on my 22 hp 7000 KT725-3012. When cranking the spark plugs are not firing. When key released will see a quick flash on the plug tester indicating power to plugs. Whatever is inhibiting the spark during the crank process is released for a second when key is released and motor still spinning from cranking. Can put starter fluid in carburetor and it will not fire until I release the key. This is enough of a spark with the starter fluid in the carburetor to start. There must be a cut off switch killing the ignition to the plugs until key released. What would cause that? Once started will run for extended period. Good gas flow. Emergency solenad works fine.New coils and plugs. Just can't seem to locate the spark problem.
Would appreciate any help or suggestions

Sounds like ignition switch issue, after the starter is engaged it should return to ON position and retain power to the ignition coils , they're not expensive to replace

The ign switch does not supply power to the ignition modules. In the off position it grounds the kill circuit. In the run position it opens the kill circuit and does not ground it and kill the engine.

Sounds like the key switch is grounding the modules in the start position but not the run position. So no spark during crank but spark in run. Usually indicates faulty keyswitch.

This problem favors a low oil pressure shutoff switch. If the oil is too low or the oil pump is not working, the engine will not start and run. The low oil pressure switch could also be bad.

As for the key switch, that is normal has the key switch changes contacts from the crank to run position.

Inspect for any fuses and make sure none a bad.
