Hi All
I am not a Mechanic, i am however a great student from the school of trial ,error and very hard knocks.
I have inherited a 1983 JD 214 Mower, It came pretty much as a box of pieces. I have sorted them out and have put it mostly back together, Engine runs great after a few new parts.
I am at the point of needing some outside knowledge. I have no service manual or operators manual. can someone tell me how to re-belt this entire unit, i am confident i have the Deck routing correct although it is not yet mounted under the machine, but i may have some parts missing from the PTO pulley to the Rear drive pulley. Can someone post a sketch or explain what is needed. I looked at dozens of You Tube videos but none have the info i need.
Should i just go purchase the parts and service manuals or can we solve my issue.
thanks for any help forthcoming.

Re: New to this forum,Just want to say Hello...

Just join this forum , I want to say hello to everyone here...Im from Atlanta , Georgia area...
I have a Old Snapper RER, with cable supported Deck, I bought it used ! I need to adjust the height in the back it cut too low and replace the Deck Belt, which was broken last week !
Anyone worked on the Snapper RER and had some ideas how to do that Please share your knowledge !
From watching the gears in the bottom I think raise the engine from the mound and put the belt down would do, but Dont know how to raise the DECK . How can I shorten the suspending cable (s)
Thanks
