Hello everybody,

I am glad to introduce myself as a first timer, indeed I have just bought a E331523KVE RER.
I live in Martinique, French West Indies, I don't know if there are many french people on the forum.
It is still at the dealer's for servicing ( i hope first and last time). The engine runs but they told me that the head gasket has to be replaced. . I am eager to get it home for testing. I have to thank you for all your contributions i have read the whole forum last week, as I was on hollidays. Once I pick it up I'll post a few picures of the beast. I have alot of sanding and painting to make it look as I want.
Above all, I apologize for my english and thank you for existing.

Hello Chris,
I am new to the forum also. And like you I read a lot of the threads and liked what I found. However, I am not new to Snapper mowers. I bought my first one, a hi-vac push mower in 1977 and still have it. I have owned 3 Snapper rear engine riders. The only one I bought new was the first one, which was a 28" hi-vac with an 8 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. I traded it for a 48" Craftsman in 1982 after we purchased a couple of acres and needed a larger mower. A couple of years later we moved back to our original place and I found a 13 year old 28" RER Snapper which had been stored for 10 years, paid $150. for it and used it for over 20 years until a few years ago i found a well maintained1993 model 33" RER Hi-Vac which needed an engine. The bagging system was unused. I gave the man $100. for it. I went through it, replaced the engine, clutch, axle dust covers, an axle bearing and after investing a total of $250., including the $100. purchase price I had a like new 1993 Snapper with a new Hi-Vac bagger. Snapper RER mowers are, to me, the most maintainable and uncomplicated mowers available. I have a lot of trees and uneven terrain which keep me from buying a Zero Turn Mower. I think the Snapper RER mowers are probably the most maneuverable mowers available, after a ZTR. And with their floating deck they do not scalp my uneven yard either. My plan now is that if I ever need another mower I will find another good used Snapper, recondition it and use it for a long time.
