New EGO 56 Volt Li-Ion battery garden tools at Home Depot

I just saw these on the Home Depot website. They are available for sale online, but not sold through my local stores. They seem to be a step above existing products. The mower has a 20" blade, 10.3" rear wheels and a 1.7 bushel bag. The trimmer uses 0.080" dual line and is bump feed. The blower sports an impressive maximum 480 CFM. There is also a 24" hedge trimmer. They all carry a 5 year limited warranty.

Another neat mower feature are LED headlights for night mowing, which can be switched on manually so they are only used when needed.

The mower battery is 4 Ah capacity and the other tools come with a smaller 2 Ah capacity battery.

Hong long time can the battery use? How about the effect of cutting?

Hi MowerMike,

I have read with great interest your posts on your GreenWorks mower, comments on Stihl and recent EGO product posts.

My Li Ion mower interest was a by product of originally wanting a Stihl cordless chainsaw, mostly for camping (where gas chainsaws can't be used) and around the garden and then thinking to get their mower and two batteries to utilize both better but the price is more than US$1,400 here in Aus for that lot. Reviews are very favourable but the price brings on nose bleeds.

The Ego products look like a very good option and good warranty period but not available here so I just sent them an email on the off chance they have aspirations of world domination.

It will be interesting when forum members can give feedback but the step up in grunt looks promising.
