Need fuel tank for Ryobi string trimmer. Trimmer is model # 2079r. Tank is part # 181774. Every where I check on internet shows not available. My tank has very thin hairline crack and leaks badly. Sears Parts direct shows cross over part # 791-181766 which I think is MTD. Sears also shows not available.
Any ideas sincerely appreciated.

You have looked and other tanks will not bolt up?

Go get a tube of seal all.

I fix gas tanks with it.

^^was what I was going to say. But, make sure it is gas proof, otherwise gas will munch the gasket like Dexcool.

Yep, gift, but when the Ryobi quit the tank was suspect weeping gas. Vibe I think finally kills.

motoman; thanks for the reply. Visited with my local small engine repair shop today. Owner checked many scrapped trimmers and Cub Cadet made in 2002 has same tank but that one is also obsolete. None of his others would work.
Thanks;

Thanks Carscw; Never heard of Seal All but searched it out on internet. Everything I found indicates it will not seal good on fuel tanks made of polypropylene or polyethylene. I have not idea if my tank is one of these.

Thanks;
