My Two Year Old Cub Cadet Leaves A Center Line Uncut

My Two Year Old Cub Cadet Leaves A Center Line Uncut. I have an XT1 Enduro Series Cub Cadet. I have to go over the cut area twice because my 42" deck always leaves an uncut streak of grass in the middle uncut. I only now have 46 hours of operation on this tractor. Is there a remedy for this issue?

This may be a dumb question, but are you using the right blades?

Some photos would be really helpful.
However the usual suspects are
1) worn , broken or bent blades
2) mower engine not running at full speed
3) mowing too fast
4) wrong blade for the type & height of grass being cut
5) trying to take too big a cut
6) blades on upside down ( yes ever pros do this on occasions )
7) slipping deck belt
8) junk caught under the blade
9) bad bearings in spindle ( usually from owners who use the wash out port )

I have the same blades that came with the Cub Cadet when I bought it. I only have 46 hours into it.

I have never used the washout port but could cutting over standing water on the lawn be the same?

I asked because some people have a preference for aftermarket blades.

In its 46 hour lifetime, did the mower ever cut without leaving a strip of uncut grass?

I really don't recall. I have always gone over the lawn twice anyway. I believe that I would have noticed it right away so my guess is that it began doing so this season. I believe last season was OK.

Loosen the deck belt so that you can bring the blade tips together and measure the distance between them. There has to be a gap but the less the better.

I'm assuming you have a two blade deck. The two blade decks require one blade to be in front of the other to cover this gap; three blade decks don't have this problem.

Mine does the same thing it also has only 2 blades 42 inch cut and about 2 years old so i will try some of the advice given here. If any thing works i will put up what works.. I have a Ariens and a Cub Cadet.

If my deck gets plugged up with wet grass it will leave a strip when mowing. Just clean it and problem is solved

Simplest remedy is to try a brand new set of blades.

The ends wear off (they get shorter) over time.
the end travels faster than any part...can wear more.
