I imagine myself listening to jazz music in a headset while mowing. Don't know how that would work yet. I wonder if there are those of you who do that. What sort of music do you listen to?

I usually 'ROCK' the stereo while I mow... but a bit of jazz will creep in from time to time... :smile:KennyV

Music is such a help in doing just about anything. I love to have the stereo on when I'm working. It's set up so it's easy to hear outside.

For me right now it's "Music while blowing" during back to back to back snow storms. I put on the Rolling Stones good and loud to get me in the right frame of mind before I go outside to clear the snow. Can't listen to anything with the blower going.

I don't know if a headset tightly set inside our ears would do. I saw a Huey land in the middle of the field once and I saw the headset on the gunner's head. I just thought that kind of headset should be perfect when listening to music while mowing.

Actually I set inside the cab on my tractor and my mower... Usually don't use a headset..
Tho I will blue-tooth my phone to an earpiece..... :smile:KennyV

The image of a cab on a tractor is still a strange thing to see in my part of the world :) Tractors here do not have cabs. Maybe one day they would put one.

But as one farm owner says, he wouldn't want a hired hand to enjoy the air-conditioning of a cab too much that he doesn't want to get out. That can be why tractors here don't have cabs :)

Anyhow, bluetooth earpiece is a cool idea. Why haven't I thought of that?

About 5 years ago I got into the XM radio craze with a new truck I bought. So I got a portable xm radio to use while mowing. It had a antenna built into the headset. Problem was I would lose reception when I would change direction and the headset let in alot of the mower noise. I didn't use it much and finally retired it to the garage. So what I'd like to know is what do you all use now with all this great technology we have and how are the head or ear sets for keeping out noise?

Oh yeah , I like to listen to 60's mostly but I will listen to just about anything .

I generally am inside a cab on my tractor or mower... But when I use headsets I use a pair of Sony noise cancellation with mp3 in,
My sister got a set of peltor mp3 worktunes, like these :
Peltor Worktunes AM/FM/MP3 Digital Stereo Headphones - eBay (item 270610391989 end time Dec-17-10 06:03:28 PST)
I tried them out and they work so much better than the Sony electronic noise cancellation, the next set I get WILL be Peltor.
With AM/FM you can find what you want OR you can plug a MP3 into it and listen to anything, even music on your phone... KennyV

What's great is to put on on the headset and then gel to whatever the mood calls for. Sometimes I like to rock out, too, but other times, I let more serene music play.
