mulch plate for side-bagger?

I've got an old side-bagging Lawn-Boy. Was thinking about the mulching conversion. Does anyone have any experience running it? Interested in knowing how effective it is (never ran a mulching mower before...)

lawnboys are the only brand mower that my folks cut with, they did have the mulching plate(bolt on) it mulched ok but they just liked to bag everything and still do. With any mulcher mower you can't mulch long wet grass and have the job look nice with out leaving clumps,unless you want to go over it several times.in my opinion mulching works best when you follow the 1/3 rule:biggrin:
 
Hello doubclik.
I had several of the old style LawnBoy mowers, they all came with the mulching plug... I did use ane on a mower but I'm sure that I have several never used inserts laying around under years of 'stuff' ... If you are needing one post back and I will try to dig one up...
