MTD- Model 660-679. 12.5, HP 38" Deck
The mower won't start and it needs to be move out of the shed to get it to the shop. The mower deck is not engaged. It will not roll when trying to push it. Trying to help a family member from a distance away.
Is there any levers to pull or push. Thank youu

If that is a hydrostatic drive, you can't push it. there is supposed to be a release on the back of the mower. Check the lower back left hand side and see if there isn't a small lever that you pull or move to lock it so it can be moved.

The lever is on the back of the tractor not the mower. Depending on age it could also be under the seat.

The lever on the back of the mower was a question I asked too. It is a manual trans so there is no rod to pull out.
On the MTD website it said to check the trans linkage to make sure it is adjusted properly and the brakes for sticking. That may be to much of a task for them.
Thank you for your quick response to the question.

If the brake seized over the winter - you need to lift up the left rear side while another person pushes - old furniture dolly if your on cement or black top .
