OK. To start out, let me tell you what mower I have. I have a Honda HRX217HYA I purchased a month and a half ago. So...this is my problem. I was mowing a yard, and then I finished, so I parked my mower in the street and then I walked around the yard to make sure I cut everything. Then I started to push my mower back to my house, and right when I started pushing, I noticed that the back right wheel was squeaking. Then it got worse. By the time I got home, it was a super high pitched squeak. I noticed it squeaks more when I do a "wheelie", since more weight is on the "bad" tire. It also is a little harder to push. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS????? EASY FIX????? I LOVE THAT MOWER!!!! DON'T MAKE ME GO BACK TO USING MY OLD HRR216! HELP! :confused2:

I would pull the wheel off and look at the bearings first.

I have had a mower do that before and all it was is the rear drive wheels have a cover over them to protect the gears. Something got stuck in mine you may want to check that and while you got it apart you may want to spray them with an oil that does not attract dust don't use wd-40 go to a bike shop and get some oil from them. They have some really go oils. go to this site it is a parts brake down OEM Parts Hope I helped some Slammed

Thanks.....that is helpful. I thought it might have been something stuck in the wheel!

Would it hurt anything if I push it around the neighborhood a little tomorrow to mow a lawn or two before I try and fix it? Or should I just use my other mower.

I would do a quick look but mine did that for about 3 weeks before I fixed mine. Those covers are thin plastic. I would pull them away a little and use an air hose to blow it out you may be able to go ahead and oil it to all that is back there is gears and bushings. Just if you use wd-40 clean it off when you take it apart and us the good stuff when you put it back togother.

I think I figured out why the "wheels" started squeaking. I think it was because I had just started using a bungee-cord to strap my blower to the mower handle when I push it around the neighborhood. I had only done that maybe 5 times, but apparently the extra weight on the back tires just was too much. So now I have to find another way to get my mower, blower, and weedwacker around the neighborhood. Would there be a way to strap the blower to ME? On Monday we are going to take the Honda into the shop to get fixed......hopefully it won't take too long....I don't like using the HRR! :frown:
But back to the blower-on-the-mower thing, it was pretty cool! Since more weight from the blower was on the back tires (which eventually made the tires squeak), it was easier to turn around corners going to the yard I was mowing since the weight is towards the back. But I think the negative of ruining my mower is worse than the positive of easier turning!

I doubt that is the cause of the problem. The blower weighs only about 10 pounds, and you put more load on the rear wheels when you push down on the handle to raise the front wheels when turning around. The rear wheels have ball bearings that are probably rated for hundreds of pounds of loading. If the problem is with the bearing, then it either needs lubrication or is faulty. My little WORX electric mower wheels squeek like heck, and it's just because they rub on the supports.
