Major damage done- is my mower worth fixing, people?

man, I crashed my MTD rider into a hidden tree stump, hidden with tall weeds. I went flying off , landed about 4-5 feet away, Im not hurt. But mower is hurt bad. One of the 2 blades got stuck into the stump, and of course, engine kept running and it chewed away the sproket end that holds/turns the blade. Sproket has disintegrated. How big a deal is it to get a new shaft/sproket/whatever one calls that part? Mower is old- 1998......has other issues too. Thanks,'people.

You need to put up the model numbers off of the tag under the seat, and better detail on the damage.

sounds like u broke a deck mandrel i would buy the whole mandrel complete if u hit a stump that hard i would also replace blade ....Not hard to change take deck off remove blade take the 3 bolts out and its out :thumbsup:

You going to fix it yourself? New or used parts? I would say price out the parts and then think what it would cost to replace the mower. You have all the answers for this not someone on a forum.

Thanks, guys. Fish, that Mod # is 13A4667 F118. Good to know Its just a mandrel, and its a doable job- as opposed to a major deal. Ray- I came to ask hhe;lp on this forum cuz you guys have always helped me in the past, and so far, you guys HAVE had some answers for me. Thaks for that. I never had any experience doing a mandrel..........
