Lawn dethathing

For lawn mowing and yard work we have a JD L130. Who makes a dethatching attachment that will work with this mower? Are there any pros/cons to the differrent ones? Do they work well enough to bother getting one? We have about one acre of yard to dethatch.

If Deere doesn't offer one you can make one easily with some hay rake teeth from TSC. Mount these to a piece of square tubing and you should be good to go.

Some grasses need de-thatching ..
Those that do don't need it that often and you can rent a power rake to do the job... I will pull LOTS of grass & roots up, big clean up... Definitely check at your rental places... :smile:KennyV
