Can anyone identify the make, model and year of this mower? It is thought to be a 1939 Lawn-Boy with a Lawson engine, but dont know for sure. It is in remarkable condition and after I worked on it today (just acquired it 2 days ago), it starts on the first or second pull. I think it may be pretty rare as I have been unable to locate another one on line. Any help appreciated.

The early Lawn-Boys weren't necessarily green so I wouldn't go by the color. Is there any writing on it at all?

In any case it's a wonderful find. It is a two-cycle engine -- right?

Not a LB, that year I think they were still reel mowers. Looks to have been repainted.
good luck finding info.

Is there any nameplate or other markings on the engine?

Thanks for posting the photos.

Nothing found so - got to be something somewhere. I'll take the engine off today and do a really close inspection on my workbench. I'm in shock that it starts so easy, although it has a pretty significant vibration - could be the blade needs balancing.

Some more photos here

Also found these numbers on the block "49 299" and below that "P 231".
Other block markings are in the photos.

Sure hope someone comes though soon with and ID - nothing yet, except the engine appears to be Power Products.
