Briggs and Stratton has purchased SimpliPhi power of California which specialized in power storage and management from grid, wind and solar And they still can't supply their dealers with parts in a timely fashion.

Arrowhead Engineered Products which owns Stens had acquired Red Hawk which is a wholesaler of golf carts parts and accessories, Which will probably increase the amount of golf cart parts available to their dealers and other sales avenues.

And JD had purchased Bear Flag robotics which their technology allows equipment to operate autonomously. So driverless tractors and equipment.

From a board room perspective all makes perfectly good sense.
B & S is getting out of engines & garden equipment because they know there is no future in it long term for petrol power and they will never be able to price match engined from third world countries.
If the USA goes solar then the demand for grid size storage batteries will be massive.
Eventually every house will have panels on the roof and perhaps a wind will or two.
If the power companies are going to remain in business & profitable then they will need big batteries to buy your excess power & sell it back to you at night from the batteries.

Aftermarket parts companies are going to need to expand their inventory as petrol powered tools are phased out, California will be followed by other states over time so that makes good sense.

And down here , JD fit 4 different GPS systems for large equipment but the problem for the broadacre farmers is none of them communicate with each other so the header can not talk to the field bins a& the field bins can not talk to the haulage trucks .
Once these systems go in house they become more machine specific.
More than one university down here are researching this stuff so ultimately the grain agents will recieve tonages as the crop is bing cut .
Silos will be able to call in trucks so there is minimum delay at either end and trains will be scheduled to shift the crop to either ports or other storage facilities real time.
The actual increase in profits obtained by optimizing the entire system is staggering so again a sound investment , let alone the chances of cutting several crops simultaneously by eliminating bottlenecks so every farmer can get their wheat cut at the optimum protein level which makes a bit difference to the end of season loan level .
