Kohler motor replacement, Courage 20 for Bush Hog 2052

My dad has a Bush Hog 2052 mower that has the courage 20 and it shot craps. They dont make that motor anymore I need a replacement. The mower has 1.125 D X 4.3--3.382 with a 1/4 key. I am having trouble finding a replacement motor. Any help would be appreciated

I replaced the same motor with a 23hp Kawasaki twin cylinder, exhaust was a little tricky but everything else fit up and worked fine. That Courage 20 hp is not a good designed machine in my opinion.

Did yours have the odd shaft size. I havent been able to locate another brand motor

It is not an odd size
1.125"ø is standard for commercial grade engines

I think you are referring to the v-twin version. If so look into the SV715-3001. It is 22 HP, gross.
