Kohler courage motor on Husqvarna

I have been out of the game for a few years, but the few Courages I worked on, left me with a bad impression of them, the one word that stuck in
my mind was "junk". But my opinion is not fair, as I haven't worked on one in years....

I have one on my cub cadet bought it about 4 months ago new has over 500 hours on it now and still running strong. Have not adjusted valves or change a spark plug.
Starts up every time never have to choke it

My riding mower has the Kohler Courage 19, its 5 yrs old and gets used a lot, so far only routine maintenance.
 
Yeah, the good stories should way far outweigh the bad ones.

My take comes from working at a dealership who kind of works on mowers with problems, the good running ones, not so much....

From what I saw, it looks like a Kohler "Command" saddled with a lot of cheap Chinese components, and these parts were usually the
problem, but I never dug into it much.
