I have a 60" Dixie Chopper, Replaced the key switch would not engage the starter with the key, not the problem. It was the Solonoid, Now I have the wires messed up, i even marked the damn things. I can start the mower by jumping across the solenoid, I had a manual ,but missed place it, Getting to old to mess with this stuff anymore, Thanks, Now I want be able to:laughing: find this message to see what the answer is, See ya

You have a solenoid with two big post/terminals, and one small one, correct?
The big cable from the starter goes to one of the big posts, either one.
The other big cable goes to the other big post. Also one of the thinner wires will go there also, it goes to the harness and likely a fuse, it has the same size ring/bolt as the big terminal.
If you have another, it is likely green with a terminal with a serrated edge, that will ground on one of the solenoid mounting bolts.
If your solenoid has two big and two small terminals, give us the model number off of the tag so we can look up a schematic.

As Kenny is saying you have a molded plug so how would you get the wires mixed, maybe you installed the wrong switch for your mower. Not all switches are alike even if the terminal are.

892-1251-210 Tromretta 12v int, and it has (4 post), 2 big ones & 2 small ones.Not having and trouble with the big ones its the little ones, i'll try to explain it:
From switch post S, Black wire to small post on Solenoid
From switch post L, Red wire to small post on solenoid
From switch post B, Black with fuse to big post on solenoid
From switch post G, no wire on this one
From switch post M, white wire going to the seat ( I don't use is tho)

Or the model off of the hood will help.
The original solenoid was a 4 post solenoid as well, yes??
