John Deere LT 150 mower will not start

If it does not fire with Starting Fluid, it is an Electrical problem. Most options have been mentioned. Remove covers and check that the Crankshaft/Flywheel key is not partially spun. Did you blow back into the fuel tank? That Carb shut off Valve on the bottom of the bowl should have an audible CLICK when you turn the key to On. Listen for it.

The fuel line from the tank to the carb has been replaced. I got it started but it will not throttle up. I am now thinking the governor has an issue. Also this is not a Nikki carb. No selenoid on the bottom.
 
I know this is not a joke to you, but I can';t help it. Did you spray it with roundup? Roundup kills anything that is green.
 
Wire the throttle to half open or hold open with a finger. She if she runs. See if she revs up and down with a finger.

If someone replaced a carb, likely someone fouled up the carb linkage.
 
Take the air filter off and make sure the butterflies on the carb are correctly attached. I had several of those engines have the screws back out and cause constant choke and no throttle change. Look down the throat of the carb and make sure the butterfly works as you move the throttle.
 
Update. It’s running! Had a few things wrong with it. I did have to replace the carburetor because the gas line was melting and gooey and would clean up. So the gas line from front to back, to the pump and out of the pump to the carburetor were replaced. Putting it back together the chock linkage was hitting so it wouldn’t move. I looked up the part and saw it was the wrong linkage. Ordered one put it back together still hitting. Looked at the gasket to the manifold intake and it was very thin. I had gasket material which was thicker so I made one. Put it back together again and it started right up and throttled as it should. Out the door it went. This was someone’s mower that worked on it but couldn’t get it going. Thank you all for your input.

Thanks for letting us know she is a runner again and what was replaced.
