Now lets see.
They discontinued the 322 in 1992 so the mower is now at least 26 years old
So $ 300 works out at around $ 11.50 a year or 50¢ a mow.
Not a big cost.
Most car mufflers won't go that distance.
So for the same $ 300 you can buy a goat.
If your time s worth nothing then you can bodge something up with water pipe & baked bean cans or perhaps even a $ 10 muffler from a cheap cheap car parts place.

Although I'm NOT positive, I would say his engine is a model # ( 3TG66UJ ) ..?? ..:wink:
Found a used muffler from a DIESEL, ... I don't know if it's interchangeable with the gas engine model though, maybe a little modification, ...??? check it out !

Yes it is a Yanmar 3tg66uj. Missed one on Ebay awhile back and am kicking myself. Will keep looking and in the mean time may try to weld it or go the "bean can" route. I know $300 isn't that much but I'm cheap.
