John Deere 240/5 vs 260/5

Can a Kawasaki FC 540V engine from a JD 260/5 lawn tractor be interchanged with a JD 240/5 tractor? Will the PTO unit line up with the mower deck and the engine bolts fit?
I might want to swap out engines on my 240 with a more powerful engine. Thank you.

The bolt holes should all be the same.
The only important things is the shaft diameter & length

I would like to know if the shaft diameter and length are the same so there won't be any issues lining up the belt to the PTO and mower deck.

You will need to measure from bottom of engine block to end of shaft, and measure the width of shaft.
