Hello supershift. Checked out the spindle,its good.
Put everything back together,i noticed looking at both shafts on the bottom
the one is not perfectly straight. You can see the one blade is and spindle assy
is not straight? it is not straight ? Brand new blades Bent deck.?

You hit something with the blade and may have bent the deck where the spindle mounts???? is that it?
Use measure/small ruler and check blades at 3,6,9,12 o'clock
new blades on would be best...swap blades if not and check readings for level.
provide more information as to what happened...what you think is bent.

Good morning Supershift.
Sorry i didnt get back sooner. I hit a tree root on the front lawn and it bent the blade.
I went out and bought a set of new JD blades for starters.I took the spindle assy off and took to JD.
They said spindle is fine,may be a bent deck where the spindle mounts? I put it all back together and
looked closely at both blades,and noticed that the side that hit the tree root,is off center maybe 1/4 to 1/2''.
Got any ideads? Thanks for your interest in my problem. Im open for any sugesstions. Jaxon1949

I do not understand what that means? how can it be off center?
Do the blades match/even when you turn them? meaning rotate level?
If one blade wobbles? You might be able to try a shim/washer(s) under one(or two) of the spindle bolts to tilt the spindle a little to compensate if the deck housing is bent.
It would be hit and miss to try various washers to try and even it out.
Find the lowest point of the blade under the mower...hopefully it would be near a spindle bolt hole... as in points toward one. Put a washer between the spindle and the top of deck or bottom...which ever does the effected purpose to tilt the blade up. measure and retry.
hopefully you can get it close.
Does the deck housing look bent at the spindle holes? Is there a crease or buckle?
If you see where it is bent possibly a large crescent wrench or pipe wrench and apply pressure.
Maybe others can join in.

If the deck has bent where the spindle bolts in then you have 2 options
1) pack out the spindle so the blade is level, but this can leave one blade higher than the other.
2) put the deck on some lengths of hardwood and apply corrective force, with a BFH and the bigger the hammer the better.

Hey Bert. My JD farmer friend came by tonight
and we used the old farmer trick as you mentioned,
a BFH,and we are level and ready to go. Thanks to you
and speedshifter great folks here on the forum. Will
put the deck back on Sat evening and mow on Sunday.
